Fun, it’s in our Nature!
EVENTS! You asked, and we listened. As we celebrate the
return of the sunshine, we’ve heard loud and clear from
the Ashland community that you want to see parks filled
with art, music, cultural events, and sports. Our staff and
community partners have been preparing all fall and winter
for June, July and August and we’ve got some exciting plans!
We’ve got the return of the Rogue World Music Festival
(RWM) coming to town on Memorial Day weekend in Lithia
Park. This year, the festival has been rebranded and will
connect across Southern Oregon with events in Medford,
Talent, and Ashland. Visit rogueworldmusic.org/festival
for more information.
Additionally, we are so thrilled to begin a new partnership with Ashland Folk Collective
(AFC) and a group of local business owners who are sponsoring our first ever
“Summer Sounds” concert series. Family-friendly regional and national musicians
will be performing this June and July in Lithia Park.
This will also be our first season EVER where a Beer/Wine Garden will be permitted
along with several local food trucks for the Rogue World Music and Summer Sounds
events. Proceeds will go to funding future events like this in our community. Don’t
forget to pack your ID and prepare to sip your favorite beverage while enjoying music
outdoors.
If dancing isn’t your thing, then there is plenty more that may suit you:
• Rogue Valley Bike Swap on April 27, The Grove, 12pm-2:30pm
Bird Day on May 11 at North Mountain Park, 8am-12noon
• APRC Park Outreach teams on June 22 (Garfield Park) & July 19 (Hunter Park),
•
11am-2pm
Ashland’s 4th of July Run on July 4, Downtown Ashland, 7:45am
• Pickleball for All Tournament on June 15/16 in Lithia Park
• Big Al’s Tennis Tournament on July 11-14 in Hunter Park
• The Ashland Japanese Garden will host monthly events this year, Spring through
• Fall. Events will feature music, art, cultural demonstrations, and more! To learn
more please visit ashlandjapanesegarden.org.
As you can see there is lots to do this spring and summer in Ashland’s beautiful parks
and we hope you join in on the fun we have planned!
